DVB-C – Digital cable television
In Germany, you can use a cable TV connection to receive at least the public TV channels (ARD, ZDF, Dritte Programme) and additionally many radio stations digitally, even if you have not taken out a special subscription for digital TV with your cable TV provider. In the meantime, the major cable providers (UnityMedia, Kabel-Deutschland and KabelBW) also offer free digital reception for private stations. DVB-T/T2 – Digital terrestrial television
With WinTV-HVR-935-HD you can receive DVB-T television, which has been broadcast in Germany since 2004, as well as the new DVB-T2 television. DVB-T2 is the second generation of digital terrestrial television and delivers TV in Full-HD quality.
With WinTV, you only receive the unencrypted, i.e. free-to-air channels.
